Garden Isle Tours

Kauaʻi is best seen from the water and the air

The Na Pali Coast has no road. The island’s wettest, steepest valleys have no trails most people can do. That is why tours matter more here than on any other island.

Start here: a morning Na Pali boat tour in summer, or a helicopter flight any time of year if you want the canyon and waterfalls too.

Timing

Summer is the calmest time on the north and west coasts. Winter, roughly October to March, brings bigger waves and wind, and some sea cave trips run only from May to September. Book boats in the morning, before the afternoon trade winds.

Common questions

What is the best tour on Kauai?

For most visitors, a Na Pali Coast boat tour. The coast has no road, so a boat or helicopter is the only way to see most of it without a long, hard hike.

Boat or helicopter for the Na Pali Coast?

A boat gets you close to the cliffs and into sea caves, with snorkeling and a meal. A helicopter shows Waimea Canyon, Mount Waiʻaleʻale and the waterfalls inland that no boat can reach, in about 50 to 65 minutes.
